JERRY WAYNE CALLAHAN - OBITUARY


Jerry Wayne Callahan, 64, of Athens passed away Thursday, Dec. 15, 2011, at Athens- Limestone Hospital. Mr. Callahan was born Dec. 8, 1947, in Madison County to Johnny William Callahan and June Miller Callahan.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Todd Cemetery with Joel Logan officiating.

Jerry was co-owner of Bucks Processing in Athens with his son Scotty; he was an avid hunter and fisherman, and also loved spending time with his family and grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Johnny and June Callahan and a brother, Billy Callahan.

Survived by his wife, Linda Sue Callahan of Athens; daughters, Tammy Strotheide and husband Eric of Lynchburg, Tenn., and Jerri Williams and husband Jason of Elkmont; son, Scotty Callahan and fiancé Tammy Kyle of Elkmont; five grandchildren, Taylor and Grace Williams, Autumn Callahan and Amy Tricky and Ashley Barnett; five sisters, Ann Carter, Mary Dean, Jenny Rucker, Carolyn Kelley and Marilyn Goodin.

Pallbearers will be Scotty Callahan, Jason Williams, Eric Strotheide, Timmy Hillard, Jeremiah Callahan and Herbert Lewis.
