Mr. Atkinson was born September 23, 1916 in Limestone County to Henry Thomas Atkinson and Octavia Hall Atkinson. Mr. Atkinson was a member of Elkmont Church of Christ. Services will be Monday, February 20, 2012 2:00 p.m., at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home. Visitation will be Monday, from 11:30 a.m. until 1:45 p.m. at the funeral home prior to the service. Burial will be in New Garden Cemetery with Steve Ferguson officiating. Survived by his wife, Lucille Atkinson of Elkmont; two sons, Ray Atkinson and Stanley Atkinson both of Elkmont; two grandchildren, Stacey Atkinson and Chris Atkinson both of Elkmont. Pallbearers will be John Witt, Leonard Watson, Joel Hogan, Harold Atkinson, Ronnie Sandlin and Gary Sandlin. Honorary pallbearers will be Mike Sandlin, Neil Sandlin, Jerry Wales, Mike Brock, Marty Thornton, Johnny Robinson, Chris Atkinson and Steve Bates. |
