Mark Rolin and Vickie Watson of Lester announce the engagement of their daughter, Melissa Brooke Watson of Elkmont, to Bruce Lynn Nelson, son of Ricky and Judy Nelson of Elkmont.The bride-elect is the daughter of the late Steve Watson. She is the granddaughter of Shirley E. Elders of Lester and the late Jimmy Elders and Bud and Dorothy Watson.
She is a 2004 graduate of West Limestone High School and a 2008 graduate of Calhoun Community College where she received an associate degree in nursing. She is employed by Athens-Limestone Hospital as a registered nurse.
The prospective groom is the grandson of Jack and Elizabeth Kerr of Athens and Morris and Geneva Nelson of Elkmont.
He is a 2004 graduate of Tanner High School. He is employed by Snap On Tools as a team lead CNC specialist and programmer.
The wedding is planned for Feb. 11 at Cartwright Church of Christ in Elkmont.
