The funeral for Howard Leon Pope, 77, of Elkmont will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home. Burial will be in Limestone Memorial Gardens with Mike Poff officiating.
Visitation is from 11 a.m. until 12:45 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Mr. Pope passed away Monday, Jan. 30, 2012, at home.
Howard Pope was born June 22, 1934, in Limestone County to William Buren Pope and Constance Rosemond Neafie Pope. Mr. Pope was a member of the Marine Corp League and The National Rifle Association.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William Buren Pope and Constance Rosemond Pope; and sisters, Francis Erickson, Phyllis Smith and Irene Estelle.
Survivors include a daughter, Deborah Pope Kennemer and husband Steve of Anderson; son, Douglas Jason Pope and wife Tonya of Harvest; grandsons, Seth Kennemer, Trey Kennemer, Laine Pope and Landon Pope; brother, Willis Pope of Elkmont; and sister, Doris Mullen of Goldsboro, N.C.
Pallbearers will be Seth Kennemer, Steve Kennemer, Trey Kennemer, Rocky Pope, Laine Pope, Gerald Barlow and Landon Pope.
