Patsy Darlene Gates, 57 of Elkmont, Alabama died on Thursday, February 26, 2015, at Huntsville Hospital in Huntsville, Alabama.
 
Born Monday, May 6, 1957 in Athens, Alabama, she was the daughter of the late Jesoph Leon Wales and the late Deola Bryant Wales. She was a lifelong resident of the Elkmont area and liked gardening, horses, her two dogs and cat. She loved camping, spending time with her grandchildren and also going to church. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers: Aaron Wales, Robert Wales, and David Wales and a sister: Estelle Black.
 
Surviving are her husband: Wade Gates of Elkmont, AL, son, Sidney Gates of Elkmont, AL, daughters, Christie (Ricky) Sharp of Athens, AL and Brandy (Ronnie) Mitchell of Elkmont, AL, brothers, Pete Wales of Franklin, TN, Charles Wales of Prospect, TN, Kenneth Wales of Ardmore, AL, Doug Wales of Ardmore, AL, Larry Wales of Ardmore, AL, Jackie Wales of Ardmore, AL and Louis Wales of Ardmore, AL, sister, Louise "Sis" Lewter of Ardmore, AL, and four grandchildren: Jesse Thompson, Austin Thompson, Emily Sharp and Meghan Sharp.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM on Sunday, March 1, 2015, at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home, Ardmore, Alabama with Bro. Steve Hargrove officiating. Burial will be in Hasting Cemetery, Ardmore, AL.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Saturday, February 28, 2015, at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home, Ardmore, Alabama.
