ABOUT CONTEST:
At Ringling College, we understand the critical role that artists and designers play in the global economy, and we begin preparing you for world-class careers the moment you set foot on campus. We educate artists and designers to achieve excellence, so that they are hired by some of the most dynamic companies worldwide.  DreamWorks, Cartoon Network, Disney, Target, Pixar, Sony, Hallmark, Apple, Leo Burnett, Nickelodeon… are just a few of the creative companies that annually visit our campus to recruit Ringling students for full-time positions and internships.What theme in The Giver relates to you personally, your community, your goals, or other aspects of your life?  You can identify a theme from the book, the movie, the trailer, or a synopsis of the book or movie.  You can tell your story in one of three ways:

• Photography Entry: 100 words or less, complemented by one original photo

• Illustration Entry: 100 words or less, complemented by one original illustration

• Written Entry: 250 words or less in an essay, poem, song lyrics, haiku, or other writing

Contestants will be judged in two grade ranges, 7 through 9 and 10 through 12, for each of the three contest categories.

Student Grand Prizes  (6 Total):

All-expense paid trip for two to the Ringling College Creative Awards Ceremony at Ringling College of Art + Design (Sarasota, FL) and Universal Orlando® Resort (Orlando, FL) for the top entry in each of the three contest categories from each of the two grade ranges.

PreCollege Student Scholarship (1 Total):

Ringling College of Art + Design Summer Pre-College Scholarship to the top overall entry to be selected from the 6 Grand Prize Winners.

Other Great Prizes  (30 Total):

First Place – $250 Gift Card + Ringling t-shirt and bag

Second Place – $100 Gift Card + Ringling t-shirt and bag

Third Place – $75 Gift Card + Ringling t-shirt and bag

Fourth Place – $50 Gift Card + Ringling t-shirt and bag

Fifth Place – $25 Gift Card + Ringling t-shirt and bag

Note: There will be five Gift Card winners in each of the three contest categories from each of the two grade ranges.
