Edward Eugene Hogan age 88 of Athens, passed away Wednesday, February 26, 2014 at his residence. Mr. Hogan was born January 7, 1926 in Limestone County to Ira Hogan and Elizabeth Bevels Hogan.
Services will be Saturday, March 1, 2014 1:00 p.m., at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home with David Eaves, Aaron Johnson and Edric Thompson officiating. Visitation will be Friday, February 28, 2014 from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Hodges Cemetery.
Mr. Hogan belonged to Carey Baptist Church and was a United States World War II Veteran.
Preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, James Hogan and A.D. Hogan; one sister, Margie Sutterfield.
Survived by his wife, Margaret Holt Hogan of Athens; two daughters, Delores Thompson and husband, Larry of Athens and Amelia Owen and husband, Larry of Elkmont; one sister, Josephine Jackson of Athens; two grandchildren, Laurie Johnson and husband, Aaron of Cullman and Edric Thompson of Maryland; four great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Adrian McCowan, Jimmy Rupp, Barry Hogan, Ronnie Bailey, James Allen Hogan and Dennis Jackson.
