JAMES THOMAS (J.T.) BLACK - OBITUARY

James Thomas (J.T.) Black, age 77 of Athens died Wednesday at Athens Limestone Hospital. Mr. Black was born April 22, 1936 in Morgan County, Vietnam U.S. Navy Veteran, retired from Goodyear Tire and Rubber, and a member of Pleasant Valley church of Christ.

Visitation will be Thursday from 6- 9 PM, services will be Friday at 2 PM in the chapel of Spry Funeral Home,with Don Osborne & Bert Wilson officiating, burial at Limestone Memorial Gardens with military honors. Nephews will serve as pallbearers, Grandsons & Granddaughters as honorary pallbearers.

Mr. Black is survived by his wife of 58 years, Shirley Wyvona Casteel Black of Athens. Sons, Steve Black & wife Gina of Decatur, Thomas Black & wife Debbie of Elkmont. Daughters, Pam Malone & Husband Hilton , Susan DeBerardinis & Husband Bob, Kim Holt & Husband Jamey all of Athens. Sisters, Ruby Naylor, Edith Birdwell, Arlene Embody, Sherry Scruggs all of Athens. Six grandchildren, three Step Grandchildren, seventeen Great Grandchildren, several nieces & nephews. Mr. Black was preceded in death by Parents, Houston & Berta Black, four Brothers, and three Sisters.
