ELKMONT RED DEVILS TAKE FIRST AREA SERIES

The most important games in the High School baseball schedule is the area games.  Each year area teams play each other to determine which two will make the state playoffs. Elkmont is part of the District 15 area.  The teams that keep the Red Devils company are West Morgan, Westminister and Madison Academy. Elkmont opened the first of those area games with a home/away series with Westminister.

The games were pushed back from the original scheduled day to March 18 as they traveled to Westminster.  They picked up the advantage in the series by winning the first game, 4 - 3.

Yesterday, the Red Devils clinched the win of their first series in the area by beating the Westminster Wildcats at the Hilltop.  They lost the first game last night, 8-5 which forced a third game - Elkmont shut the door on the Wildcats with a 5-4 win. The next area series is against Madison Academy, March 1.
