The Elkmont fire department got paged out at 6:42 pm, February 2 to back up Oak Grove on a structure fire. Located on Putman Circle just off of Mooresville Road, the abandoned house was engulfed in flame (fully involved) when the first person got there.
The weather didn't help as heavy storms made firefighting a very wet and muddy affair. Oak Grove and Elkmont had a lot of people respond. The Elkmont Department had 13 fire fighters plus others bringing drinks.
