Lisa Kay Thornton Vaughn age 49 of Athens, passed away Sunday, March 12,
2017 at her residence. Mrs. Vaughn was born April 19, 1967 in Limestone
County, AL to James Edgar Thornton and Judy Sanderson Nave.
Services
will be Wednesday, March 15, 2017 2:00 p.m., at Central Church of
Christ with Bill Perkins officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday, March
14, 2017 from 5:00 until 9:00 p.m. at the church. Burial will be in
Roselawn Cemetery. Limestone Chapel Funeral Home assisting the family.
Survived
by her husband, Bill Vaughn of Athens; two daughters, Kristen Gatlin
and husband, Neal of Elkmont and Kayla Vaughn of Athens; one son, Kyle
Smith and wife, Landria of Athens; father and mother, Joe and Judy Nave
of Athens; two brothers, Bryan Thornton and wife Kathy of Athens and
Chris Nave and wife, Eva of Madison; three grandchildren, Peyton Gatlin,
Preston Gatlin and AnnMarie Gatlin; several nieces and nephews.
Mrs.
Vaughn was a member of Central Church of Christ. She was a City of
Athens employee and licensed cosmetologist. She was a loving Granna,
dedicated wife and mother.
Pallbearers will be Bryan Thornton,
Chris Nave, Kyle Smith, Neal Gatlin, Earl Glaze and Dolph Bradford.
Honorary pallbearers will be City Street and Sanitation Department.
In lieu of flowers make donations to Hospice of Limestone County in memory of Lisa Vaughn.
