The Dalton Scott Memorial Trail Ride is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. Saturday on both the southern and northern ends of the Richard Martin Rails to Trails track in Elkmont. Riders will converge in downtown Elkmont for lunch, where there will be live music and a table auction.
Proceeds will be split among Huntsville-based For Life Ministries, Gaits to Heaven Ministries (serving the Lakota Tribe in South Dakota) and Good Shepherd Ministry (missions to Haiti). Non-riders are welcome to attend the event in downtown Elkmont.
A suggested minimum donation of $10 provides a ticket to ride and a hamburger/hot dog sack lunch, including water, during the ride. For more information, contact Adams at 256-653-0159 or send a message to daltonscottmtr@gmail.com.
Cowboyn' for the Son, the North Alabama/southern Tennessee chapter of the national Cowboys for Christ organization, believe they will see their friend Dalton Scott again in heaven, but in the meantime, the trails certainly aren't the same place without him.
The club, which brings people together through their mutual love of Jesus Christ and riding horses, is planning the inaugural Dalton Scott Memorial Trail Ride for this Saturday, to honor the life of a man one club member called “a real strong Christian.”
