The funeral for Robert Leon Clark, 74, of Athens will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home with James Howard and Debbie Eubanks officiating. Burial will be in Gatlin Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Dylan Smith, Rob Taylor, Donnie Hart, Herman Jefferson, Tommy Dale and Johnny Henderson.
Visitation is from 1-3 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Mr. Clark died Thursday, Nov. 17, 2011, at home.
Robert Clark was born Thursday, Dec. 17, 1936, in Itmann, W.Va. He was the son of the late Curtis Clark and Clara Saunders Clark. Robert Clark lived in the area for the past 32 years, after arriving from West Virginia. He loved playing the guitar, hunting and fishing. He was a U.S. Navy veteran.
Mr. Clark was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, one sister and a grandson.
Survivors include his wife, Brenda Clark of Athens; son, Ray Maddox and companion Kim Moody of Elkmont; daughters, Sherry Tinnpenney and husband Steve of Bland, Va., Cynthia Locke and companion Wayne Norton of Rogersville, and Patricia Clark and companion Randall Haggard of Athens; sisters, Rosie Davis of Rock, W.Va., Phylis Duncan of Lerona, W.Va., and Sue Wadkins of Princeton, W.Va.; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren
