...FLASH FLOOD WATCH IN EFFECT FROM THIS EVENING THROUGH MONDAY AFTERNOON...
THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN HUNTSVILLE HAS ISSUED A

* FLASH FLOOD WATCH FOR PORTIONS OF ALABAMA AND SOUTHERN MIDDLE TENNESSEE...INCLUDING THE FOLLOWING AREAS...IN ALABAMA... COLBERT...CULLMAN...DEKALB...FRANKLIN...JACKSON... LAUDERDALE...LAWRENCE...LIMESTONE...MADISON...MARSHALL AND MORGAN. IN SOUTHERN MIDDLE TENNESSEE...FRANKLIN...LINCOLN AND MOORE.

* FROM THIS EVENING THROUGH MONDAY AFTERNOON

* A STRONG STORM SYSTEM WILL AFFECT THE TENNESSEE VALLEY TONIGHT AND INTO MONDAY WITH THE POTENTIAL OF HEAVY RAINFALL. 2 TO 4 INCHES OF RAIN WITH LOCALLY HEAVIER AMOUNTS WILL BE POSSIBLE BY MONDAY AFTERNOON. THE HEAVIER RAINFALL AMOUNTS ARE EXPECTED TO BE EAST OF INTERSTATE 65. THE RAIN WILL BEGIN TO TAPER OFF...WEST TO EAST...BY MONDAY AFTERNOON.

* THOUGH CONDITIONS HAVE BEEN DRY SO FAR THIS YEAR...THIS AMOUNT OF RAINFALL MAY CAUSE FLOODING ISSUES ACROSS THE AREA. THIS IS ESPECIALLY THE CASE FOR LOCATIONS EAST OF INTERSTATE 65 WHERE THE HEAVIER RAINFALL AMOUNTS ARE EXPECTED. AREAS WITH POOR DRAINAGE AND LOCATIONS IN LOW-LYING AREAS WILL BE MOST SUSCEPTIBLE TO FLOODING CONCERNS.
