Estell Kaufman Black age 92, passed away, on her 92nd birthday Thursday, November 6, 2014 at Athens Limestone Hospital. Mrs. Black was born November 6, 1922 in Limestone County, AL to William Harrison Kaufman and Pearl Kate Brown Kaufman.Services will be Sunday, November 9, 2014 2:00 p.m., at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home with Bill Irby and Ray Hill officiating. Visitation will be Saturday, November 8, 2014 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Limestone Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Black was a faithful Christian and charter member of West Hobbs Street Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Carlos R. Black; and son, Carlos W. “Poocy” Black.
Survived by one son, Larry Black and wife, Linda of Athens; one daughter, Carol Walker and husband, Garry of Madison, Al; one sister, Juanita Collier of Sheffield, AL; 7 grandchildren, Troy Black, Daryl Black, Andy Black, Nancy Martin of Elkmont, Susan Dixon, Kevin Walker and Valerie Chaffin; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Andy Black, Daryl Black, Kevin Walker, David Martin, Carl Dixon, Bailey Black, Ben Dixon and Danny Black.
