WHAT'S FOR SUPPER?

On October 28, 2014, the Lauderdale County Cattlemen’s Association held the annual Beef Cook-Off. Seven schools participated. Athens High School FACS Department hosted the event. There were two categories, Junior High and Senior High Divisions. The first place winners will represent Limestone County at the State Cook-Off in Montgomery.

The Limestone Cattlemen’s Association gives $50 to each 1st place winner, $45 to teach 2nd place winner and $30 to each 3rd place winner. Each teacher received a $75 Beef Certificate to the Piggly Wiggly in Elkmont.

The winners were as follows: Junior Division:
1st Stacia Benford, Athens
2nd Victoria Kraus, Clements
3rd Alex Hite, East Limestone

Senior Division:
1st Preston Taylor, East Limestone
2nd Haley Scott, Ardmore

Huge thanks to the Limestone County Cattlemen’s Association for sponsoring this event and supporting our Family and Consumer Sciences Programs.
