Josh Howard Goff born December 13, 1932 went home to be with the Lord December 24, 2014.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Mildred Goff of 62 years; his children, Brenda Swanner and husband, Curtis, Beverly Taylor and husband, Kenneth, Howard Goff and wife, Donna, Joel Goff and wife, Erika; seven grandchildren, Tonya Carter, Braxton Swanner, Dustan Taylor, Amberly Goff, Joshua Goff, Jacob Goff, Brooke Goff; four great-grandchildren, Jessica Carter, Blake Swanner, Lillyana Goff, Cooper Goff, all of Elkmont; sister, Thelma Olloween Norton.
Preceded in death by his daughter, Connie Sue; parents, Henry and Opal Goff; brother, Mack Goff; sister, June Pressnell.
Visitation will be at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home Friday, December 26, 2014 from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Services will be Saturday, December 27, 2014 2:00 p.m., at Berea Baptist Church on Lucas Ferry Road with Bro. Pat Lawrence and Larry Hughes officiating. Mr. Goff will lie in state from 12:00 p.m. until 1:45 p.m. prior to the service. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery.
Josh Goff served in 1343rd Engineer Combat Battalion as active Staff Sergeant AL National Guard, Demolition Specialist in Korean War. He was a member of the Korean Valor Honor Flight in 2011. Active member of Berea Baptist Church, he was a Shriner. He owned his own business for 34 years, Josh Goff Heating and Cooling. He loved his horses; he was a “True Cowboy”. He was an active team roper until the age of 79.
The family is grateful for all the love and support that has been shown during this time.
Pallbearers will be Howard Goff, Dustan Taylor, Braxton Swanner, Joshua Goff, Jacob Goff, Tim Carter, Steve Pressnell and Phillip Norton. Honorary pallbearers will be W.L. Miller, J.T. Collins, Jim Smith, Jim Igou, Neil Johnston, Ronnie Appleton and Barry Goff.
