Come on out starting June 8th, if you want to run, walk, or just cheer the kids(and we of the older persuasion) on. The volunteer runs on the trail (Rails to Trails), will be on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays this summer at 6 pm - starts next to Elkmont depot. Come on out and join us; a great way to get your summer started off right. Run at your own pace and enjoy the company!
I set some standards through minimums for the team this year. I believe setting goals is an integral part of becoming a better athlete. I have watched kids progress over the years becoming faster and stronger, but more importantly becoming more confident in their abilities. Setting goals in any part of life can only make you work harder, stay focused and give you more confidence in your own abilities. We can't let our kids become mediocre and not be the best they can be whether it be in sports, academics, arts, or just life in general. We have all become
more accepting of doing enough to just get by. Work hard and success will come. Doesn't matter if anyone else sees it or knows about it! You will and that can only build self esteem and give you a better purpose. Not boasting or bragging but filled up with the knowledge that hard work got you there. Encourage your kids to do it. Be the example they need to see! Have a good one!
