Dalton Eugene Scott, 83, a humble and Godly man of Athens went to be
with the Lord on June 5th, 2015. Visitation will be Sunday June 7th,
2015 from 6-9 PM at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home. A celebration of life
will be held at Elkton Road Baptist Church at 2:00 PM on Monday June 8th,
2015 with Pastor Toney Wales and Ken Lesueur officiating. Body will lie
in state from 1:30-2:00 PM at the church. Burial will follow in
Limestone Memorial Gardens.
He is preceded in death by his parents
Arthur and Mamie Scott, his sister Selma Scott Boyd and his brothers
Thomas Scott, Jerry Scott, Stanley Scott and Allison Scott.
He is
survived by his wife Martha Scott, sister Sara Scott (Buddy), his
daughter Mona Scott Hill (Jeff) of Elkmont and granddaughter Savannah McKenzie Hill of Eklmont,
sister-in-laws Wanda Scott, Frances Scott, and Obinetta Solomon. He is
also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Dalton was born to
Arthur Scott and Mamie Daly Scott on March 1, 1932 on a farm in the
Union Hill community. He attended West Limestone High School. Sixty
three years ago he married the former Martha Dale Wright. He was
employed by P.R. Mallory and Delphi Steering. He loved horses and trail
riding and was able to ride his horse on the last day he lived. His
number one priority was his Lord and his family. He was a loving father
to his daughter, Mona Scott Hill and a kind and caring
grandfather to his granddaughter, Savannah McKenzie Hill.
Dalton was a member of Elkton Road Baptist Church and Cowboys for Christ.
Pallbearers will be deacons of his church. Honorary pallbearers will be members of Cowboys for Christ and Dr. Wyatt Galbraith.
