BIKES, BIKES EVERYWHERE

If you have noticed the signs and the roads being marked with arrows, you have seen the preparation that is under way for the multiple sclerosis fundraiser that will start Saturday morning.

The route goes through the Elkmont community so be on the look out for all the bike riders.  If you need to be somewhere tomorrow morning, give yourself extra time so you won't be in a rush when you meet these dedicated riders.  Remember to share the road and be careful when you pass them.

2015 Bike MS:
North Alabama

The 6th Annual Bike MS: North Alabama event is a fun, healthy and memorable way for team and individual cyclists to raise money and awareness for research and support programs to move us closer to a world free of multiple sclerosis. The Saturday, June 6th ride will reach new heights in an effort to better the lives of all those living with MS in Alabama and Mississippi.

Fitness Park - which is adjacent to the Athens-Limestone County Hospital Health and Wellness Center - will serve as the start/finish line for the 25, 45, 75, and 100 mile route options which will take riders along the cyclist-friendly and well-marked Noah Bike Trail and even into the southern boundary of the state of Tennessee. Our routes travel through historic towns and points of interest throughout north Alabama's Tennessee River valley taking cyclists through beautiful and undulating countryside.The ride will start promptly at 7:30 am.  The course and participants will be fully supported with:

  • Frequent, well-stocked rest stops (every 8-12 miles);
  • Roaming mechanical/bike repair support;
  • Roaming medical support;
  • Roaming SAG (support & gear) vehicles

On the morning of June 6th, riders will meet in Athens, Alabama for the 6th annual Bike MS: North Alabama event.
