WHAT IS THIS SNOW? IT IS SUPPOSED TO BE EAST OF ELKMONT

It's snowing here on on the Hilltop this morning. If you look at the radar, there is very little to the west of us. The snow is forming right before it gets here. We aren't in the advisory area but we aren't too far from it. Snow doesn't pay attention to county and state boundaries so we may need to pay attention to the advisory anyway. Be careful as you come home this afternoon.  The road could have slick spots.  It's not going to warm up.

Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect for parts of Northeast Alabama and Southern Middle Tennessee. Those areas could see 1-2 inches of snow today but the highest amounts will be confined to the highest elevations. Outside of that, less than an inch is expected. The tricky part with the forecast is that snow will be moving across the area in small "bands" that could produce a quick half an inch to an inch of snow in very isolated locations so expect that snow totals today to vary from location to location. Some areas may receive a flurry or two while a few miles away, there could be a half an inch!
