HOW DID ELKMONT VOTE?


We had a big turnout for the primary elections yesterday in Elkmont. Either the Democrats didn't bother to vote or they declared themselves as a Republican to cross over since their primary had 91 voters and the Republicans had 668 voters.

Of 52,283 registered voters in Limestone County, 23,598 came out to vote for who will represent them in the November general election. 

Breaking down the information, Hillary Clinton clinched the Democratic nod with 72 percent, or 3,199 votes, while opponent Bernie Sanders scored 25 percent, with 1,120 votes. In the Republican corner, Donald Trump seized 43 percent, or 8,198 ballots, of Limestone County's Republican votes, while Marco Rubio and Ted Cruz each garnered nearly 20 percent. Ben Carson, a local favorite among some Limestone County residents, earned nearly 11 percent, with 2,061 votes.
