Born Sunday, August 25, 1929 in New Bethel, Tennessee, he was the son of the late Virgle Colvett and the late Lorene McMullins Colvett.
He was a Veteran of the US Army, serving in the Korean War. He was an Engineer, retiring from Civil Service. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife: Irene Southerland Colvett, and a brother: Doug Colvett.
Surviving are sons, Benny (Angie) Colvett of Athens, AL and Darrell (Connie) Colvett of Elkmont, AL, daughter, Tammy (David) Colvett-Steele of Clarksville, VA, brothers, RL Colvett of Elkmont, AL and Bobby (Kay) Colvett of Athens, AL, sister, Reba Sirten of Lester, AL, a sister-in-law: Peggy Colvett, three grandchildren and four greatgrandchildren.
Graveside services will be held at Pettusville Cemetery on Saturday, June 18, 2016 at 3:00 P.M. with Rev. Debbie Eubanks officiating. Pallbearers will be Jonathan Colvett, Daniel Colvett, Joshua Colvett, Anthony McNatt, Chris McNatt, and John Smith.
