Virginia McAfee Ball, age 88, of Decatur, went to live again with Jesus, June 14, 2016. Mrs. Ball was born on Dec. 12, 1927, in Elkmont, Alabama to Pauline and Byers Miller. She led a full and happy life filled with travel, adventures, a loving family and friends. We will miss her, but know that her spirit is at home with the Lord.
She is preceded in death by her parents and her brothers,
Kenneth and Houston Miller; her sister, Delores Posey; her
granddaughter, Jennifer McAfee; husband George McAfee and husband Morris
Ball.
She is survived by her
son and daughter-in Law, Larry and Ann McAfee; sister Joyce Wales;
sister-in-law, Sarah Miller; grandchildren, Mark Cain (Allison), Melissa
Davis (Brian); great-grandchildren, Mason and Logan Crain, Brittney and
Brianna Davis; nieces, Brenda Anderson (Ronald), Linda Carol Szalkucki
(Ben), Beverly Reid (Tommy), Lynn Pinkerton (Jeff); nephew, Brian Posey;
and beloved companion, M.C. Taylor.
Funeral Service
will be Saturday June 18, 2016, at Ridout’s Brown Service Funeral Home
Chapel in Decatur, at 11 a.m. with visitation one hour prior to the
service. Rev. Edward Jenkins will conduct the service. Burial will
follow in Roselawn Cemetery in Athens, Alabama.
Pallbearers are Ronald Anderson, Ben Szalkucki, Tommy Reid, Mike Watts, Jeff Taylor, Mark Crain, and Brian Davis.
