Christmas fun was in town this past Saturday as the Elkmont Lions Club Christmas Parade made its way down the streets of Elkmont.
This year's Grand Marshall was past District Governor Lion, Larry Pylant.
We had everything from bands and beauties to tractors and trucks and wonderful things in between.
The parade was graced with a couple of our local beauties, Maddie Hobbs, our Miss Merry Christmas
and the 2015 Home Coming Queen, Ruth Ann Bates. Both young ladies are Seniors at Elkmont High School.
We were honored to have Mayor Tracy Compton to help lead the parade on the route.
1st Place -- Elkmont/Piney Chapel Girl Scouts Troop 1134
2nd Place -- Brian Patterson Revenue Commissioner's Office
We also had Antique Cars and Trucks to judge, the winners were:
1st Place - Billy Ferguson (49 International Truck)
2nd Place - Sonny Davis (65 Chevy Pickup)
3rd Place - Wayne Clinard (65 Ford Mustang)
Antique Tractors who doesn't love them?
Our winners for this year are:
1st Place - Tommy Elmore (54 John Deere 70)
2nd Place - Rusty Beddingfield (59 Allis Chalmers)
3rd Place - Ethan Keeton (50 John Deere MT).
Special thanks to the Elkmont High School Marching Band and the Cheerleaders for their performances. There is nothing better than Christmas music and cheerleaders doing their routine.
The Lions Club would like to thank everyone who had any part in making this year's Parade possible. We all wish you a Merry and Blessed Christmas.
