HIGH SCHOOL ANNOUNCEMENTS ... MAY 7 - 11

THURSDAY:
  • Yearbooks are here! Seniors may get theirs from Ms. Lewis on Friday. All others will get theirs Monday. If you owe a balance, please remember to bring your money.
  • Softball needs to turn in uniforms and pullovers as soon as possible. Volleyball try-outs continue today in new gym 5:00-6:30.
  • If anybody wants to give blood sign up outside Mrs. Schmidt's room.
  • There will be a Poetry Tech Club meeting today after school in Mrs. Baker's room.
  • Any student who needs to go to summer school is asked to come to the counseling department at his/her first available opportunity in order to pick up an application packet. Only cash or money orders will be accepted...NO PERSONAL CHECKS. STUDENTS MUST PAY THE FULL FEE AT THE TIME THEY REGISTER. ONCE ALL SEATS ARE FILLED, NO NEW STUDENTS WILL BE ADDED TO THE ROSTER. REGISTRATION WILL CONTINUE AT THE LOCAL SCHOOL UNTIL MAY 25, 2012.
  • Beginning Monday, May 14, 2012 you will no longer be able to charge breakfast or lunch.
WEDNESDAY:


  • Picture Money due Friday, May 18.
  • There will be a Poetry Tech Club meeting Thursday after school. Please bring your t-shirt money.
  • Varsity Girls basketball tryouts will be next Monday-Wednesday from 3:30-5:30 in the new gym. Any girl in grades 8-11 interested in playing needs to see Coach Bates today.
  • This year's summer school will be held at the Ombudsman center in Athens from June 1-June 29, and the cost is $300. Students will be allowed to take up to two courses cia Credit Recovery. There will be no advanced classes offered at LCS Summer School 2012. There will be two sessions; the first session will be from 8am-11am, and the second session will be from 11am-2pm. Students will attend at least three hours per day, and there are only 25 available seats for each session.   • Students in grades 9-11 who would like to apply for the Greater Limestone County Chamber of Commerce Youth Leadership Program should come by the counseling department today or tomorrow and pick up an application packet. The cost is $45, and all students should pick up their packet no than tomorrow.

TUESDAY:


  • If you would like to give blood there will be a sign up sheet outside of Mrs. Schmidt's room.
  • Congratulations to the Varsity Boys Golf Team, who missed qualifying for the state tournament by only 7 strokes yesterday at Gunter's Landing. Congratulations to Hayden Huseth, who qualified as an individual; Hayden will compete for a state championship in the state tournament next Monday and Tuesday in Auburn.

MONDAY:

  • Volleyball try-outs will be after school today in the new gym. All paper work must be completed at this time.
  • Congratulations to the 6th grade scholars bowl team for winning the championship Friday afternoon at Blue Springs. The team defeated Ardmore in the finals and were the highest scoring team in the competition. Again, congratulations.
  • Middle school baketball players need to go by and see Coach Sutton sometime today.It is about the summer workouts.
  • Cross Country sign-ups are by the lunchroom through Thursday, May 10.
  • Sign up outside Mrs. Schmidt's room for the Blood Drive on May 11 to give blood. You must weigh at least 110 pounds and be 17 years old, and if you are 16 and are able to give blood you must have a parent consent form signed.
