The funeral for Anna Marie Talley, 61, of Athens will be at 2 p.m.
Monday, Oct. 7, at McConnell Funeral Home with the Rev. Jaina Anderson,
the Rev. David Palmer and the Rev. Charles Baggett officiating. Burial
will be at Roselawn Cemetery.
Visitation is from 6-8 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 6, at McConnell Funeral Home.
Mrs. Talley died Friday, Oct. 4, 2013, at home.
She was born Oct. 6, 1951, in Limestone County to James Henry Thornton
and Lois Patterson Thornton. She graduated from Athens High School in
1969. Mrs. Talley worked for the Alabama Department of Corrections
before retiring in 2013. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church
of Athens.
She was preceded in death by her father, James Henry Thornton, and her mother, Lois Patterson Thornton.
Survivors include her husband. Rodney Talley of Athens; her son, Jason
Talley and wife Lindsey of Crossville, Tenn.; her daughter, Kerri Beth
Owens and husband Jayme Owens of Elkmont; a sister, Bonnie Chambers of
Athens; two nephews, Reid Chambers of Auburn and Evan Chambers of
Birmingham; and one granddaughter, Mikayla Talley.
Pallbearers will be Bryan Cowart, Darwin Halbrooks, Richard Stover, Timothy tenBerge, Lloyd Wallace and David J. Wise.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of Limestone County, American Cancer Society or First Presbyterian Church.
