Evelyn Faye Boyd McMeans age 71 of Elkmont, passed away Tuesday, October 15, 2013 at her son’s residence. Mrs. McMeans was born November 22, 1941 in Limestone County to Bob Boyd and Evelyn Terry Boyd. Mrs. McMeans was retired from the City of Athens Council on Aging where she drove the Senior Citizens bus for 28 years.

Preceded in death by her parents, Bob and Evelyn Boyd; husband, Samuel E. “Buddy” McMeans, Sr.; son, Robert M. “Robin” McMeans; infant daughter, Eugenia Faye McMeans; sister, Edith Wilson; brother, Terry Boyd.

Survived by a son, Samuel E. McMeans, Jr. and wife Ginger; grandchildren, Will McMeans and wife, Meagan, Eli McMeans, Kristiea McMeans Woodall and husband, Jeremy and Jessica McMeans; 4 great-grandchildren; sisters, Janice Pirtle and husband, Dallas, Teresa Moss and husband, Ronnie; brother, Randall Boyd and wife, Lisa; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be Friday, October 18, 2013 10:00 a.m., at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home with Steve Ferguson officiating. Visitation will be Thursday, October 17, 2013 from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery.
 
Pallbearers will be Will McMeans, Jimmy McMeans, Gary McMeans, Terry Bob Boyd, Scott Wilson, and Brad Stone. Honorary pallbearer will be Eli McMeans.
