DINNER WITH OUR ELKMONT FIRE DEPARTMENT

On Saturday, Jan 10th, the Elkmont Volunteer Fire Dept held the 2014 Awards Dinner.  Family and friends are what make our department work smoothly, and without their support, we wouldn't be what we are today.  We were honored to have Charles and Deloris Hill, longtime friends of the department as our special guests this year. 

Each year the Elkmont Fire Department recognizes the service of some of our special first responders:

Line Officer of the Year
* the officer in control of scene whether it be fire,wreck or whatever the call *

Robby Newport 

Executive Officer of the Year 
* the executive officers take care of the business end of running the EFD*

Jeff Thomas  

Firefighter of Year

Lonnie Hagan Award
Several years ago, the EFD started giving this special award. It is awarded to the individual who goes the extra mile to help keep the station running smoothly.  This year the Lonnie Hagan Award was awarded to one of the young men in the department who is always ready to help in whatever means possible.  I know this year's winner was especially honored as his Dad presented him with this honor.  

The night ended with a late but fun game of Dirty Santa.  The EFD is looking forward to great things in 2015.  As always, we continue to ask for your support in all our projects and fundraisers to help our firefighters serve our community. Elkmont loves our volunteer fire department.
