LORENE VALENTINE HILL - OBITUARY

The funeral for Mrs. Lorene Valentine Hill, 91, of Lester, will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at McConnell Memorial Chapel with Scott Pepper officiating.

Mrs. Hill passed on Wednesday, Jan. 18, 2012, at her residence. Burial will be in Legg Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday at McConnell Funeral Home.

Mrs. Hill was born April 19, 1920, to Earnest Everett Lawrence and Lillie Mae Lawrence. She was a member of Leggtown Church of Christ. She was a homemaker whose hobby was quilting.

Mrs. Hill was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Elmer “Coot” Hill; one son, John David Hill; one granddaughter, Sunshine Hill; and one great-grandson, Chad Dean.

Mrs. Hill is survived by three sons, James E. “Bud” Hill and wife Linda of Athens, Bennie Hill of Lester and George Hill of Athens; five daughters, Mildred Thompson, Marilyn Wooldridge and husband Milton of Athens, Ann Harvey of Elkmont, Sandra Fleming and husband Phillip of Lester, and Myra Ridgeway of Athens; two brothers, Ozro Lawrence and J.T. Lawrence; two sisters, O.C. Guess and Beatrice Shedd; 19 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Billy Hill, Brandon Turner, Justin Ridgeway, Derrick Hill, Jeremy Fleming and Adam Hill.

Honorary pallbearers will be Dustin Hill, David Hill, Allen Hill, Clint Harvey, Jeff Hill, Jared Fleming, Jonathan Fleming and Tommy Long.
