Tanner used a late second half push to advance to the championship game of the Limestone County Tournament with a 67-50 win over Elkmont Thursday. Tied at 20-all at halftime, Tanner outscored the Red Devils 24-12 in the final quarter to pull away for the win.
The Rattlers had four players – Jace Haggermaker, Zach Whitt, Greg Maclin and Matt Hines – score in double figures. Hines led the way with 17 points, while Whitt hit four 3-pointers in a 14-point effort. Maclin had 13 and Haggermake 11 in the win for Tanner.
Dan Logan led Elkmont with 17 points despite fouling out with 6:37 remaining in the game.
Tanner will play the winner of Friday’s East and West Limestone semifinal. Tip off for the boys championship game will be at 7:30 p.m. Saturday.
