The funeral for Pearl Jewel McCormick, 90, of Athens will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home. Burial will be in New Salem Cemetery with Bobby Marks officiating.
Visitation is from 6-9 tonight at the funeral home.
Mrs. McCormick passed away Monday, Jan. 16, 2012, at Athens Rehabilitation Center.
Pearl McCormick was born Aug. 23, 1921, in Limestone County to James Taylor and Carrie Gregory Taylor. She was a member of Cairo United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward McCormick; parents, James and Carrie Taylor; three brothers; and two sisters.
Survivors include a daughter, Blondenia “Blondie” Dollins and husband David of Lester; three grandchildren, Melody Springer of Lester, Marty Dollins of Elkmont and Misty Birdsong and husband Jason of Prospect, Tenn.; seven great-grandchildren, Whitney Dollins Monks, Zach Springer, Haley Dollins, Wes Birdsong, Brook Birdsong, Zane Springer and Justin Birdsong; one great-great-grandchild, Alivia Fisher; sister, Corrine Tribble of Athens; several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Dwayne Blankenship, Jeff Crawford, Julian Hughes, Don York, Tommy Birdsong and Donald Bassham.
