A memorial service for William C. (“Bill”-“Shorty”) Davis of Elkmont will be held at 6:30 p.m. Friday at McConnell Funeral Home with Heath Haney officiating.
Visitation is from 5-6:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Mr. Davis died Sunday, Jan. 8, 2012, at Huntsville Hospital.
William Davis was born Oct. 4, 1938, in Limestone County to William Nolan Davis and Jemima Tekla Davis.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Beach Davis; three daughters, Belinda Davis Adams and husband Jerry, Tamara Tammy Davis Rector and husband Troy, and Susan Davis Blakely and husband Eugene, all of Athens; one son, William Charles Davis Gilley of Decatur; eight grandchildren, Heather Adams, Jeremy Adams, Joshua Adams, Frankie Terry, Emmalee Terry, Janna Rector, Derrick Blakely and Drew Blakely; and three great-grandchildren.
