Hubert Oliver Haney, 79 of Elkmont, Alabama died on Tuesday, January 28, 2014, at Floyd E. "Tut" Fann State Veterans Home in Huntsville, Alabama.  Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM on Thursday, January 30, 2014, at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home, Ardmore, Alabama with Bro. Tony Boyles, Jimmy Haney, and Bro. Hubert Sims officiating. Burial will be in Gatlin Cemetery, Ardmore, AL. Pallbearers will be grandsons and honorary will be classmates and friends from Ardmore.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Wednesday, January 29, 2014, at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home, Ardmore, Alabama.

Born Tuesday, January 15, 1935 in Athens, Alabama, he was the son of the late J.E. "Stump" Haney and the late Jessie Dildine Haney. He was a retired Master Seargent in the US Air Force. He enjoyed fishing, participating in Dog Day, and auctions. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son: Michael Wayne Haney, brothers: Ronald, Bobby, and Dennis Haney, and a sister: Sherry Blankenship.

Surviving are his wife: Gwen Haney of Elkmont, AL, daughters, Teresa (Eddy) Beverly of Ardmore, AL and Lisa (Rodney) Giese of Richmond, VA, daughter-in-law: Cindy Haney of Elkmont, AL, brothers, Marion (Edna) Haney of Ardmore, AL, Jimmy (Jean) Haney of Elkmont, AL, Nolan (Jean) Haney of Ardmore, AL and Cloyd (Joan) Haney of Ardmore, AL, sister, Nadine Atchley of Elkmont, AL, sister-in-law: Mary Ann Haney, wife of the late Bobby Haney, of Elkmont, AL, grandchildren: Daniel, Kimberly, Erica, Jesse, Angie, Jennifer, Bianca, Jason, Michael, Lucas, Alex, and Josh, great-grandchildren: Jaden, Cameron, Kristen, Chase, Milana, Zackary, Hunter, Weston, Krista, Ben, Reese, and Marley, and a host of nieces and nephews.
