Joseph Monroe Appleton, 77, of Dickson, Tennessee passed away on Friday, January 24, 2014, at Ardmore Health & Rahabilitation Center in Ardmore, Tennessee.

Born Monday, September 21, 1936 in Elkmont, Alabama he was the son of the late Jesse Appleton and the late Georgia Daly Appleton. He was preceded in death by brother; Edward Appleton, sisters; Jean Hill, Elizabeth Marbut, Angeline Campbell and son-in-law, Mike Wise.

Surviving are wife, Ruby Taylor Appleton, Athens, AL, sons; Ronnie (Regina) Appleton, Elkmont, AL; Kevin (Melinda) Appleton, Ardmore, AL, daughters; Tanya Wallace, Ardmore, AL, Debrah (Daryl) Dubois, Athens, AL, Cynthia Wise, Elkmont, AL, sister; Clara Stanford, Pulaski, TN; fifteen Grandchildren, sixteen Great Grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM on Sunday, January 26, 2014, at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home, Ardmore, Alabama. Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM on Monday, January 27, 2014 at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home, Ardmore, Alabama with Bro. Steve Hargrove officiating. Burial will be in Antioch Cemetery, Elkmont, AL.
