Services for Mr. Goodin are Tuesday, September 23, 2014 at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home at 2:00 p.m. Visitation will be Monday, September 22, 2014 from 6:00 until 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Myers Cemetery with Matt Taylor officiating.
He was a loving husband and father. He was a homebuilder in Limestone County for over 38 years. He loved music and making music. He also enjoyed quail hunting.
He is survived by his wife, Margie Simpson Goodin; children, Bob Goodin, Norma Goodin Thomas and husband Kenneth, Barbara Goodin Burks and husband Eddy, Mickie Goodin Martin and husband Terry and Rick Goodin and partner Jonathan Crutchfield; grandsons, Matthew Thomas and wife Jada, Sam Thomas and wife Christy, Mark Thomas, Neil Martin and wife Brittanie; great-granddaughter, Cadee Thomas; great-grandsons, Jack Thomas, Max Thomas, Rowe Thomas and Caleb Martin; sisters, Gladys Goodin Nelson, Kathleen Goodin Carr and husband Nick, Naomi Goodin Key, Betty Goodin King and husband William and Marie Goodin McNatt and husband Billy; sisters-in-law, Athalee Powers Goodin and Annie Lou Lauderdale Goodin; many nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Lawrence Eugene Goodin and wife Clura Coffman, Thomas Leroy Goodin and wife Stella Lauderdale, James Harvey Goodin, and Charles Wesley Goodin; sister, Mary Louise Goodin and husband Roy Laxon and Joseph Price; brothers-in-law, Carlyle Nelson and Norman Key.
