NATIONAL SERVICE ALERT FOR ELKMONT

...WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 10 PM THIS EVENING TO9 AM CST MONDAY...

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN HUNTSVILLE HAS ISSUED A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY FOR A MIXTURE OF FREEZING RAIN...SLEET...AND SNOW...WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM 10 PM THIS EVENING TO 9 AM CST MONDAY.
 

TIMING AND AREAS AFFECTED...
RAIN WILL GRADUALLY TRANSITION TO LIGHT SNOW, SLEET AND FREEZING RAIN BY 10 PM TONIGHT THROUGH MONDAY MORNING
 

IMPACTS:
TRAVEL WILL LIKELY BE IMPACTED ON BRIDGES, OVERPASSES AND SECONDARY ROADS WILL BECOME SLICK AND HAZARDOUS.  BE PREPARED FOR SLIPPERY ROADS AND LIMITED
VISIBILITIES...AND USE CAUTION WHILE DRIVING.



NWS FORECAST:
Tonight :Rain and sleet likely before midnight, then freezing rain and sleet likely between midnight and 3am, then a chance of snow after 3am. Cloudy, with a low around 25. North wind 10 to 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. Little or no ice accumulation expected. New snow and sleet accumulation of less than a half inch possible.

MONDAY THROUGH SATURDAY...
CHANCES FOR LIGHT SNOW WILL CONTINUE THROUGH  MONDAY MORNING. THERE IS ALSO A SLIGHT CHANCE OF A RAIN AND SNOW MIX ON FRIDAY NIGHT.
