NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE ALERT
THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR NORTH ALABAMA AND PORTIONS OF SOUTHERN MIDDLE TENNESSEE.
DAY ONE...TONIGHT...
A NORTH WIND OF 5 TO 10 MPH COMBINED WITH LOW TEMPERATURES DROPPING INTO THE TEENS WILL CREATE WIND CHILL VALUES BELOW 10 DEGREES IN MOST
AREAS.
DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...FRIDAY THROUGH WEDNESDAY...
ANOTHER ARCTIC COLD FRONT WILL ARRIVE IN THE TENNESSEE VALLEY LATE SATURDAY NIGHT...WITH NORTH WINDS OF 10 TO 15 MPH CREATING WIND CHILLS IN THE SINGLE DIGITS FOR SEVERAL HOURS SUNDAY MORNING. PORTIONS OF NORTHEAST ALABAMA AND SOUTHERN MIDDLE TENNESSEE CAN EXPECT WIND CHILLS BELOW ZERO DURING THIS PERIOD.
A LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM WILL APPROACH THE FORECAST AREA MONDAY WITH PRECIPITATION EXPECTED TO BEGIN AS A MIXTURE OF RAIN AND SLEET BEFORE TRANSITIONING TO ALL RAIN MONDAY NIGHT. AS THE SYSTEM MOVES ACROSS THE AREA TUESDAY...A CHANCE OF THUNDERSTORMS WILL BE POSSIBLE IN THE SOUTHEASTERN AREAS. AS THE SYSTEM MOVES AWAY TUESDAY NIGHT...COLDER AIR WILL MOVE IN AND RAIN WILL CHANGE TO A RAIN/SNOW MIX AND THEN ALL SNOW ON WEDNESDAY. THERE IS A HIGH AMOUNT OF UNCERTAINTY AT THIS TIME IN REGARDS TO THE TIMING OF THIS SYSTEM AND ANY SNOW ACCUMULATION THAT MAY OCCUR.
