Helen Trousdale, age 96 of Rogersville, passed away Friday, Feb. 16, 2018 at Athens Health and Rehab. She was a lifelong resident of Rogersville and a member of Anderson church of Christ.
The family wishes to thank Athens Health & Rehab and Southern Care New Beacon for their compassionate and loving care. She was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Henry Trousdale; granddaughter, Marla Rae Kent; parents, Vannie and Bama Howell; sisters, Myrtle Goodman, Gurtie Snoddy, Murtie Weathers, Jewel Deming, and Margaret Grisham Newton; brothers Buster Howell and Luster Howell.
She is survived by daughters, Edith Kent (Wayne) and Sanda Martel, both of Rogersville; grandson, Jason Kent, Elkmont; stepgrandchildren, Patrick Martel (Jennifer), Cartersville, Georgia and Melissa (Sean) Scott, Clarkston, Michigan; two stepgreat- grandchildren; sister-in-law, Ruth Hamilton, Florence; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be at Elkins East Chapel Tuesday, February 20 from noon until 2 p.m. A service will follow in the chapel at 2 p.m. Brother Guy McDaniel will be officiating. Burial will be at Rogersville Civitan Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Phil Pressnell, Ray Tucker, Michael Clemmons, Jimmy Glass, Mark McIntyre, and Rocky Rose.
