Graveside service for Elijah Forrest Amerson Jr., of Elkmont will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Antioch Cemetery with Mitch McCormick officiating and McConnell Funeral Home directing.
There will be no visitation
Mr. Amerson died Wednesday, Sept. 5, 2012, at Athens-Limestone Hospital. He was born Dec. 15, 1932, in Elkmont to Elijah Forrest Amerson Sr. and Mary Ruth Amerson. He was retired. He is preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Emma Jean Lewter Smith; and two brothers, Robert E. Amerson Sr. and Edgar Amerson.
He is survived by one son, Elijah Forrest Amerson III of Elkmont; one daughter, Christine Lee Putterbaugh of Toledo, Ohio; four brothers, George W. Amerson and Hubert “Duke” Amerson, both of Elkmont, and Tommy Amerson and Rickey Amerson, both of Athens; six sisters, Virginia Lauderdale of Elkmont, Lucille Blackwell of Athens, Tera Hamby of Pulaski, Tenn., Mary Webb of Athens, Brenda Kennemer of Athens, and Patricia Reece of Elkmont; five grandchildren, David Lee Amerson of Elkmont, Robert L. Putterbaugh, Shannon Putterbaugh, Sarah Putterbaugh and Bryan Putterbaugh, all of Toledo.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Limestone County.
