Rhett Bailey is near and dear to many of us in the Elkmont community. He has faced cancer; been told he would never play contact sports again which is a major part of his life; had to deal with issues that no high schooler should; become a cancer survivor. Rhett has experienced the emotional roller coaster that has sent him to the lowest depths and joyous heights. Often we learn the greatest lessons and develop the strongest testimonies from the trials and adversities in our lives. Rhett is no different. He will be sharing his testimony of the Power of Prayer this Sunday at the downtown Elkmont Church of Christ. If you would like to hear him speak, services start at 5 pm.
He bore his testimony at another church (think it was Northside Church of Christ) last Sunday. One person who heard him remarked:
"Heard a young man speak from the Word of God on the power of prayer last Sunday night! He had survived cancer and had a great message. Tonight he was on the field playing a game he was told he could never play again. Monday morning after the Dr.s cleared him to play by telling him the blood clot was gone, he came to me on the playground and said to me " I prayed to play again and this only proves my lesson last night". Truly an inpsiration! I have known Rhett Bailey since he was born and his good family for all of my life. Great to see the power of prayer at work in his and all of our lives. God is good!"
