The Midget coaching staff knew that the key to the game against East Limestone was to contain its explosive running backs. Penetration into the backfield by Coby Scroggins, Ben Hanback, and Josh Burrows reinforced by the hard hitting of Masin Morris, Skyler Morris, Jedidiah Sutherland and Xavier Watkins set the tone for this game to be a defensive slugfest. The 19-6 score betrays how close the game really was, with East scoring a touchdown at the very end of the fourth quarter to put what had been a close game out of reach. Elkmont's lone score came at the beginning of the second half on a 60 yard kickoff return by Masin Morris who showed the fans that Elkmont had some speed of its own to contend with. Midgets' next game is against West Limestone at 4:00 pm on Saturday.
