The
Heart of an Eagle boys scout award was given to the SOAR (Special
Olympics Awareness Run) this morning. Thanks to all who have
participated in the past and the up coming run tomorrow and Friday!
Thanks to Limestone Co. Sheriff's DEPT., Athens P.D., Brad Stovall and
all who have donated and given their time to help these athletes!
Felt weird accepting this award without all of the great people who have
put in the miles with me each year. The breakfast this morning honoring
the scouts of America was a servant themed event. I have been blessed
to work with some of the greatest servants God put on this earth. The
teachers and support professionals and administrators I work and have
worked with are the most selfless people around. The special needs
students are very well taken care of at my school and schools
all across Limestone county. I have also been very blessed to be a
part of the BEST running community around. North Alabama has great
runners who are not only physically talented but also have giving souls
that shine every day. They have selflessly put in the miles to raise
awareness for these special athletes and raised and donated many dollars
to help transport them to State competition. What other friends would
stay up all night running and listening to my stories! I love each and
every one of them. Thank you all so much. Looking forward to tomorrow's
run! These athletes deserve all of the praise for getting out and
trying their best in these games. Proud of all of them!
