The resolution, which calls for extensive changes to the make up of the Tech School, was passed unanimously by the Limestone County Schools Board of Education at its monthly meeting Tuesday night.

After the meeting, a number of concerned parents and students, including Elkmont's Sarah Christoper asked how the plan is specifically impacting the gifted program.

The short answer, Sisk said, is “Just trust us. Trust us long enough to bring you the complete plan. Don't assume the worst. We're not going to throw out the baby with the bath water.” (Just trust us...Hill Spirit's least favorite answer)

As Sisk and other administrators iron out the remaining details of the restructuring plan, Christopher said she and other students and parents would compile a list of their concerns and requests for what the restructure should look like.

“We're frustrated mostly from the lack of information, but we also have realized this isn't the end. We will just have to make our points and hope that our thoughts and ideas will be heard,” Sarah said.

Elkmont Decisions:
• Approved hiring McKee & Associates to design new home-side bleachers for the Elkmont High School football field.

• Accepted $16,170 bid from Harpole Floors to sand and refinish the gymnasium floor at Elkmont High School.
