AND IT BEGINS...

The ground breaking ceremony for Elkmont's new fire station was yesterday evening. A new home for the fire department has been talked about for years; has been a dream until now.
It's not about one person but a awesome group of ladies and men on the board who have worked hard and with great determination to make this happen.

As president, my job is the business side of the department.  I will be the first to say it takes each one of us to make this happen.  The Elkmont Town Council has been there every step of the way, answering or finding out the answers to our questions, as we continued to move forward on this large project.
Does this mean it will be done twice as fast?
The new station will be in front of the new storm shelter on Sandlin Road.  The  station will be 7200 square feet, have 3 bay doors facing the south and 2 facing the north on the back side.  The main lobby entrance, offices, bathrooms, meeting room and kitchen will be on the right or east of the bay doors with a southern exposure.

I see ...  a station rising from the ground over there
Each member of the fire department, Elkmont Town Council and most of all, the community deserve appreciation for all their support.  Hoping to have it done by the end of the year.  When your new fire department is completed, we will celebrate together with a grand opening.

Thank You
President: Robby Newport
Chief: Michael Carter
Asst.Chief: Toney Roberts
