TEAM LOVELL/HARKINS TAKE SECOND AT LIFESTOCK JUDGING

The Auburn University Block and Bridle Club and the Department of Animal Sciences hosted a 4-H/FFA judging contest on Saturday, April 25, 2015. It was held at the Stanley P. Wilson Beef Unit on Auburn University’s campus.

The Elkmont cousin duo of Jacob and Natalie Lovell, and their teammate, Will Harkins got 2nd place overall team score at one of the livestock (sheep, pig, and cow) judging competitions in Auburn.    This Limestone county team will be participating in the June state competition as well.

Jacob (5th grade) and Natalie (6th grade) both attend Elkmont School. They were the only Elkmont representatives at the competition.

Ben Maples is the team sponsor. They meet weekly at Tanner High School for practice. They study the various criteria that are used in judging sheep, pigs, and cows.
