DOUG POWERS - OBITUARY

Doug Powers, 61 of Athens died Friday at his residence. Services will be 2pm Monday at Spry Funeral Home, Chapel with Alton Downs and Billy Burrough officiating, burial will be at Dement Cemetery, visitation is from 6-9pm Sunday at Spry Funeral Home.

Mr. Powers was born June 6, 1954 in Limestone County. He was a Machine Operator.

Survivors: parents: Calvin and Lib Powers of Athens; sons: Michael Powers of Athens and Joey Powers of Athens; daughter: Karen Owens and husband Chase of Athens; eight grandchildren: Austin Powers, Justin Patterson, Kaily Burroughs, Nathan Powers, Brianna Burroughs, Cassie Bolton and Marionna Staggs. Two great grand-children: Zayden and Zoey Powers; brothers: Wendell Powers of Athens and Eddie Powers of Athens; sisters: Annette Burrough and husband Larry of Athens, Kay Baugher and husband Tony of Elkmont and Kathy Anderson and husband Luther of Athens; a host of Nephews, Nieces, great nephews and great nieces.

Preceded in death by: wife: Sandra Powers; three brothers: Dwight Powers, Mark Powers and Dennis Powers; one sister: Barbra Powers.

Pallbearers will be Michael Powers, Joey Powers, Justin Patterson, Austin Powers, Nathan Powers, John Patterson, Eddie Carwile and Chris Routh.
