The Elkmont Elementary Beta Club is made up of fourth and fifth graders. These youngsters are given the opportunity each year to share a little love with our older folk. They take Easter Baskets to the Limestone Health Facility on West Hobbs Street in Athens, and deliver Easter cards to the nursing home in Ardmore.
The kindness and devoted attention these wonderful students gave the elderly was amazing. These young men and women participate in many service activities that help them develop the quality of charity. Another they have participated in is a sock drive for those who might be in need at local homeless shelters. They also organized a canned food drive to help with the Full Tummy Project at Elkmont School.
The love and compassion these young men and women show others is astounding! These service projects are the very core of the honorable things these students do in addition to making good grades. I am honored to be the Elementary Beta Club Sponsor at EHS. Ours is truly a remarkable club with outstanding students.
