STORMS COMING LATER TODAY

Skies will become cloudy as temperatures rise into the 50s and eventually the upper 60s by noon. Winds should stay at 5-10 mph through mid-morning before picking up to 10-20 mph by the late morning. A stray shower is possible with the morning clouds, but the higher chance for rain comes in with a line of afternoon storms. That line should push into northwestern AL by 11a-1p and track east with time. It would be along I-65 around 2-4p. Some of the storms will be on the stronger side with gusty winds of 35-45 mph. Isolated storms could become more intense with wind gusts to 60 mph and quarter-size hail. A spin-up tornado is possible, but the threat for that is much lower compared to the wind.
