ELKMONT AT THE LIMESTONE COUNTY VOLUNTEER FIRE ASSOCIATION

On February 26, the Limestone County Volunteer Fire Association held its annual awards dinner for 2015 at the Limestone County Event Center.  The awards given out are on a nomination based decision. Each department in the county nominated outstanding volunteers. A committee reviewed the nominations and selected each award winner. This year the Fire Department of the Year was awarded to the Piney Chapel Volunteer Fire Department. 

Awards given to Elkmont Fire Department:.

*Sarah Hurd Award was presented to Robby Newport President of Elkmont Fire Department for Outstanding Service. He has volunteered countless hours to make the new fire hall in addition to other things not seen by everyone in the community. 



*Bernard Clark Award for Dedicated Leader and Volunteer to Their Department and Community. This year, two awards were presented.  One to Larry Pylant, Elkmont Volunteer Fire Department

and to Susan Pylant, Elkmont Volunteer Fire Department.

Several city, county and state officials were present for the dinner. Everyone who attended had a really good time and enjoyed the fellowship with the brotherhood of firefighters.  

The night was topped of by an awesome meal catered by Camellia's. We look forward to 2016 and hopes and prayers are that everyone remains safe during their service to the Elkmont Fire Department and community and will be back next year.
